Message from Pastor Gary

Dear family of God at CCE,

I received a message from a concerned internet watcher this week regarding last Sunday’s message. I thought I would share my response with you all in case someone else was confused or concerned. By the way, please don’t think based upon the video that I showed on Sunday that I endorse perpetrating violence or harm against those with whom we disagree either politically or religiously. I do not. I had forgotten the contents of the last few minutes of that video and probably should have stopped short of showing that part. Please read my response to the concerned internet watcher below

Dear ….., Sorry for any confusion you experienced over Sunday’s message. The point I was trying to make was that anyone, regardless of what group they identify with (Catholic, JW, Mormon, Baptist, Presbyterian, etc.) can be saved if they put their faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. I believe it is wrong to automatically assume that everyone in one group is going to hell or that everyone in another group is going to Heaven. I certainly don’t endorse the teachings and doctrines of these groups, but a person doesn’t have to have “perfect doctrine” to go to Heaven.

(John 3:16)  For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

(John 12:12)  But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name:

(Acts 2:21)  And it shall come to pass That whoever calls on the name of the Lord
Shall be saved.’

Certainly, the best way and the right way is to follow the truth of God’s word and His Word only. I would always encourage someone if given the opportunity, to leave a group that teaches false doctrine and plug into a Bible believing, God fearing, Jesus loving, Spirit-filled Christian church.

Many blessings in Christ,
Pastor Gary Cowan
