There are many religions, belief systems, and clubs found throughout the world that offer a certain degree of morality and framework for life. These entities may fill the hole in our hearts for a season and they may even help us become so called “better people,” but in the end they cannot fulfill. God, on the other hand, offers a real relationship based on the sacrifice of His only Son Jesus. Through this act, He has made a way for you to know Him intimately.
Who is God?
According to the Bible, God is first and foremost our Creator. He created everything that we can see today including animals, plants, stars, and His crowning achievement, mankind. Furthermore, He created mankind in His own image and likeness so that He could have a relationship with us. God therefore, is in control of all events that happen both on Earth and in Heaven. He is all-powerful, all-knowing, and everywhere at one time. He is perfect, holy, and best of all, according to 1 John 4:16, “God is Love.”
What Happened to the World?
If you look around today it is seems confusing that although a loving God created this world destruction abounds. Enter mankind. Shortly after God created Adam and Eve they chose to disobey God and this choice brought death into the perfect world that God created. God had warned them and desired that they not disobey, but alas through Adam’s disobedience sin entered our world and brought death and destruction with it. Their sin separated the perfect God from a fallen man, but fortunately for us, He had a plan.
Through Adam’s sin humankind was painfully separated from God and unable to be in His presence. This fact greatly grieved God because His desire was to have relationship with His highest creation, humankind. Enter Jesus Christ. Because God would not leave us to die, nor did He want us to be separated from Him, He sent His only Son Jesus Christ to this Earth in order to pay our ransom. Jesus Christ entered the World with the mission of dying on a cross so that the price for man’s sin could be paid. Although man had enslaved himself to sin through disobedience, God offered freedom through His Son Jesus.
Who is Jesus?
Jesus is the one and only Son of God, whom He sent to free us from bondage. Jesus Christ is part of the Trinity (Father, Son, Holy Spirit) and was fully God and fully man. According to the Bible, He is the only way to God and He is the only one that can save man from death and Hell. Therefore, It is only by accepting Jesus as Lord and Savior that mankind can be saved.
How do I Accept Jesus?
To accept Christ as Lord and Savior is actually very simple. First you must acknowledge and agree with God that you have sinned and fallen short of God’s standard. Then, you must acknowledge that it is only by Christ’s sacrifice that you can be saved from death. Finally, you must leave your former life and begin to follow Jesus in every way.
