March 23rd Update
Dearly beloved brothers and sisters in Christ, I hope and pray you all had a good weekend in the midst of this season of concern and isolation. We had a great time yesterday doing the live stream service, with just those leading worship, as well as those handling the sound and live streaming present with me there in the sanctuary. It was great to have at least a few faces out there to direct my words to. Hopefully many of you were able to tune in via Internet on our website calvarychapeleast.com, Facebook live stream or YouTube live. As previously mentioned, at this point you can contact us via email at calvarychapeloffice@gmail.com. We are periodically checking our mail and phone messages but I wanted to provide you with a special phone number which will be accessible at all times. Obviously if you have a medical emergency you should call 911 but if you have any other needs such as prayer, counsel, transportation, errands etc., you can contact us at this number. We will do our best to assist you anyway that we can. If no one answers, please leave a message and we will get back to you as soon as possible. The non-medical urgent needs contact number is 505-850-4039. May the Lord continue to bless you and strengthen you and encourage you as we stand together during this difficult time. All our love in Christ, Pastor Gary and Georgie Cowan
March 18th Update
Dearly beloved brothers and sisters of Calvary Chapel East,
Our hope and prayer is that all of you are safe and well during this time of great national concern for the health and well being of all those dwelling within the borders of the US. Of course we also extend thoughts and prayers for those all over the world impacted by this current corona virus outbreak.
In spite of my strong desire to continue meeting with body of Christ for our regular Sunday services, I believe it is altogether appropriate that we cancel services for the next two Sundays (March 22 & March 29th) & Thursdays until further notice in order protect our members from the possibility of infection. We also believe it is right and proper to respect the strong suggestions issued by local and national leaders including our president that we not gather in groups of more than 10 people for the next 15 days (now more like 13).
With all this in mind, we will be offering our regular live streaming of worship and teaching at the normal time of 10am this coming Sunday and the following Sunday as well. We encourage you to join us online at calvarychapeleast.com or on facebook live stream. We also have a youtube channel where you can view and listen to previous teachings at your convenience.
Men’s Prayer will continue to meet on Tuesday nights at 6pm. Women’s Bible studies will not meet for the next two weeks. For any other information about small group gatherings (Koinonia Groups, Men’s Breakfast, Young At Heart etc.) contact your group leaders. The church and school offices will be closed, but we will be retrieving messages on a regular basis @ 505-243-2025. We can also be reached by email at: calvarychapeloffice@gmail.com.
Please be mindful of the fact that our financial obligations (salaries, mortgage, utilities, etc.) have not ceased during this crisis. We have a Gyvv tab on our web site where you can click and give. We can also receive donations through paypal using our email address. If it’s easier for you, you can send in your donations by regular mail to: Calvary Chapel East / 12820 Indian School NE / Albuquerque / NM / 87114. We will be checking our mail regularly.
Thank you all for the tremendous love and support that you give to me, my wife Georgie and the rest of the staff here at CCE / CCA. May God bless and protect each and every one of you.
In the love of our precious Lord and Savior Jesus Christ,
Pastor Gary
